I discovered the art of Butoh dance during a dance performance by Camille Mutel, Effraction de l'oubli. I was inevitably fascinated by the evocative power of this dance, with no setting and a single grazing source of light, showing the body in its essence. This is how I have decided to explore this theme. Knowing that Butoh can take as many forms are there are performers of it, I worked with my models based on simple and limited codes ; a piece of white cloth to conceal the face, a single source of light placed as close to the floor as possible, a black background and my camera set up on a tripod, also very close to the ground.
